Mirror had earlier (March 11) reported about
Ajay Devgn foraying into Marathi films with a family drama headlined by
Nana Patekar. Now, we hear he is now set to make a guest appearance in the film that also features Sumeet Raghavan and Iravati Harshe in pivotal roles. "I've been discussing the film with Abhinav for over a year now. We've always wanted to work together and I'm happy to be collaborating with him."
"Ajay and Nana are superstars and I'm really excited to be working with such powerhouse talents," the film's directori Satish Rajwade, who has previously made films like 'Premachi Goshta', 'Mumbai Delhi Mumbai' and 'Ti Saddhya Kay Karte', had told Mirror.
Nana and Ajay have previously shared screen space in 'Bhoot', 'Apaharan' and 'Raajneeti', but this is their first regional outing.
According to a source close to the development, Rajwade approached Ajay with the cameo as he believed it would add a certain flavour to the film.
Devgn, who will be delivering his own lines, had flagged off the film in May with actress-wife
Kajol giving the muhurat clap. While he has played a swashbuckling Marathi cop in
Rohit Shetty's 'Singham' franchise and produced the 2014 Marathi film 'Vitti Dandu', last year, the actor-filmmaker made an appearance on a Marathi show with Kajol while on the promotional rounds for his last directorial, 'Shivaay'.
